This location is beautiful to sit. They have a great atmosphere and comfortable seating. You do not feel the rushed feeling that comes with a coffee shop sometimes. The staff was very helpful and kind. Very quick service and the coffee is amazing. The Iced Carmel latte is so good!! Worth the stop. Did not get a chance to try their food.
I simply don’t understand reviews that complain about having to order, pay, and pickup one’s food at the counter to bring to the table. This is a cafe; not some Michelin star restaurant. Although... speaking of Michelin star, Baker’s Daughter is tied to the chef at Gravitas, who is a star holder. Our experience here was great! The staff was friendly and genuinely hard at work. The food was delicious! And the coffee was actually quite perfect. It’s not easy to find a really good breakfast place that is not greasy, overly heavy, and in grossly proportioned. We enjoyed our dine-in experience and will be back.
I had the pesto chicken with red onion sandwich and it was ok. 3 of five stars. I couldn’t taste the basil pesto flavor I was craving and the onions were cooked vs raw so I didn’t get that crunchy raw and fresh bite I thought it would have. The chick pea salad was good, but the sandwich fell flat. So why five stars vs three, the guy behind the counter that took my order is awesome. He is friendly, inviting and welcoming. I just left the dentist which means I was drained and I’m a stressed mood. His ability to welcome people got me leaving in a happy mindset. That is a rare trait and a five star experience.
Great place to pick up a quick bite for breakfast in DC. They serve in paper/disposables so don’t expect a sit down/ceramic fast casual experience - food still great and nice espresso drinks. Love the avocado toast. If you go and have a few minutes make sure to check out the Eaton - beautiful building with lovely art!
My husband and I stopped by Baker's Daughter for brunch before heading to the annual Chuseok Family Festival at the Smithsonian National Museum of Asian Art, and we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered their breakfast biscuit, and it was absolutely delicious! The bacon, egg, and cheese jalapeno-cheddar biscuit with sweet pepper jelly was packed with flavor, and I loved the slight kick from the jalapeno and the sweet pepper jelly. It was savory and perfectly balanced. To go with it, I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade, which was a bit too sweet for my taste, so I added some water to mine, but it still paired nicely with the biscuit. The location is perfect, located in front of Planet Word (one of my favorite museums in DC) and just a few blocks away from CityCenter DC. The chic decor and cozy seating area made for a lovely brunch atmosphere. We had a wonderful experience, and we can't wait to come back!
